#Detroit native, entrepreneur, proprietor, and restaurateur, Nya Marshall is an ambitious woman on the move to revamp Detroit’s east Jefferson area by bringing in clean, fresh and modern American-Fusion cuisine that the city hasn’t experienced in over three decades.
Located at 9205 East Jefferson in Detroit, the dilapidated building was covered in ivy leaves and had been inactive for over 30 years. The restaurant offers a full-service bar and fresh locally sourced meats, poultry, fish and vegetables that are served from farm to table with vegetarian-friendly options to accommodate most dietary needs. Marshall, without a commercial loan or outside partners, developed this mixed-use property with her own personal funds and the help of her small construction crew. With more than just a restaurant in mind, Marshall is also in the process of partnering with local farms and developers to rejuvenate and bring life to the once-forgotten area.
