How To Deactivate Procrastination

According to Google, 1 out of 5 Americans is a chronic procrastinator. I was a chronic procrastinator until I got tired of feeling the guilt and shame of not accomplishing my goals.
I felt complacent with my career and I went through the self-sabotaging cycle of self-doubt and operated in "professional mediocrity." What is professional mediocrity you may ask? Professional mediocrity is just maintaining the status quo. Deep down, you know there is much more for you to accomplish, but you may be fearful. Accomplishing this new goal may take you outside of your comfort zone. This fear may cause you to procrastinate and remain stagnant.

"Procrastination is a dream killer.
It will keep you in a delayed state."

I have had a great career as an insurance agent for almost two decades, but something was missing. I was not fulfilled. I felt a push to do more. I wanted to freely use my creative gift and operate in my God-given purpose. So, I did some soul searching and prayer. I made it my mission to stop procrastinating and pursue my dreams and goals.
One major life goal that I wanted to accomplish was to successfully self-publish my books. I was suffering from the most common cause of procrastination, a fear of failure. I was tired of feeling the guilt of not being productive when it came to achieve personal goals and aspirations. I created a plan to jump start my passion for writing and reclaim my purpose.
The first step was to acknowledge that I had a problem with procrastinating. The next step was to write out a plan and put it into immediate action. So in April of 2017, I established Queashar Detroit Publishing, LLC. Since then, I have had the opportunity to become an international bestselling author while educating aspiring authors about the self-publishing process.
I have written and self-published two books, "Everything They Won't Tell You About Procrastination!" and "Skyrocket Your Success! 10 Keys to Refocus, Reposition, & Reclaim Your Purpose." I have also contributed to two anthology projects: “Living A Non-Negotiable Lifestyle” and the international bestseller “Unstoppable Gems: WOMEN Just Like You Sharing What They Live and Do!”

Becoming an author has changed my life for the better and opened up countless opportunities for growth, personal development, and monetization. And it would have never been possible if I did not stop procrastinating. It has also opened up countless opportunities to collaborate and help people internationally through coaching and speaking engagements.
