1. "MONEY LOOKS BETTER IN THE BANK"
According to Leviticus 27:30, "One-tenth of the produce of the land...belongs to the Lord and must be set apart to him as holy.." God knows what he's doing when it comes to money! And saving is just as important as tithing. Even many financial planners advise individuals to save between 10-20% of every paycheck. I make it a habit to tithe 10% and save 10%, leaving the rest for spending or for other expenses. If you feel you're not ready for saving 10%, start small, such as 5%, or a specific amount in which you feel works best for you.
2. DON'T TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT!
As businesswomen, or just as human beings, we are faced with challenges that test our morals. People follow and trust those whose character they believe isn't flawed. Don't compromise what is right, even when it's hard. G. Alan Bernard, president of Mid Park, Inc. once encouraged, "The respect that leadership must have requires that one's ethics be without question. A leader not only stays above the line between right and wrong, he stays well clear of the 'gray areas."
3. DON'T BE AFRAID TO GROW.
Ming Lee, founder and CEO of hair company, Snob Life, shared that knowing "when to hire people, and when you need help" is one of the best pieces of advice she could give to businesswomen. "There comes a point in business where you're either maintaining it or you're growing it...you by yourself can't do both. So either you're on the growing team or the maintaining team."
4. IT'S OKAY TO TAKE BABY STEPS.
It is important to set and write down weekly, monthly, and long-term
goals ... and actually achieve them! Set S.M.A.R.T goals and accomplish tasks DAILY. The acronym S.M.A.R.T means Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound. Try breaking a big goal into real tasks that have a deadline. Trust me, this will change your life!
5. HIT THAT "UNFOLLOW" BUTTON ...
What you feed your body, mind, and spirit plays a crucial role in your outcome of performance and success. You should be constantly filling up your life with positivity and motivation to keep you on track to fulfilling your goals. Yes, that even includes who you follow on social media. Is your feed weighing you down from reaching your dreams?
