5 Benefits of having a Business Bestie

Updated: Jul 1, 2021

Reasons why collaboration is key

If you’re in business I’m sure you’ve heard the term “entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone.” The road to success is long, hard and for many, it’s lonely. Entrepreneurs often spend hours alone trying to figure out the complexities of what success looks like for them. If no one has ever told you, I’m here to say you don’t have to do it alone. Today we are going to dive into reasons why having a business Bestie may help you on that righteous road to riches.

1. You’ll have someone to talk to

There is nothing like being able to vent to someone who knows exactly what you are going through. Those late night calls while you’re up brainstorming will have you refreshed and ready to take over the world. Having a solid support system can truly shape the way you experience success. The hard roads won’t be as hard if you have someone to lean on.

2. Increase your Chances for Opportunities

As much as you want to believe that you can be everywhere at once, it’s simply impossible. When you have a business bestie you have someone who knows your business and is looking out for you when you are unavailable. Those Instagram post that say “tag a business owner who...” might just be the break that you are looking for and having two people looking is always better than one.

3. Gain a second pair of eyes

Have you ever been working on a project and it’s almost perfect but you feel like there is just something missing? Sometimes having that second opinion can change your perspective and help you succeed. Letting someone else help you with small projects can help the flow of creativity and give you an insight on how your customers may see things.

4. Expand your current network

If it’s one thing I’ve learn in business, it’s that who you know is sometimes much more important than what you know. Having people in your corner is always a great perk. When you have someone who knows people in power it makes being invited to the right rooms, with the right people, much easier. Networking can mean growth for even the smallest businesses. Don’t sleep on having someone who can introduce you people you don’t know. You never know where roads may lead.

5. Collaboration over Competition

There is nothing like celebrating success with women you started with. Working on projects together, going to events together, growing together and even having healthy challenges to push you towards success.

One thing to always remember is the woman next to you is never your competition. The term “iron sharpens iron” is the act of working together to both become better. I am a firm believer that there is enough for everyone and the more you give the more you receive. Having support is a sign of strength so if you don’t already have one, go get you a business Bestie!
